Jason Moloney, the current WBA Oceania Super Bantamweight Champion, is set to defend his title against Filipino Virden Rivera (8-2-2).
With Jason initially set to face tough hard-hitting African John Amuzu (18-1), his original opponent was forced to withdraw after being denied a Visa. When questioned on how the change of opponent impacts Moloney’s game plan, he is quoted as saying:
“I prepare for all of my fights in the same way. You can not look past any opponent and I always make sure that I leave no stone unturned in my preparation.”
The former Australian Bantamweight Champion and the current WBA Oceania Bantamweight Champion Andrew Moloney will also be looking to continue his unbeaten streak; when he takes on Filipino southpaw Cris Alfante in an 8-round contest.
“Training has been great for this fight. Having fought just 5 weeks ago I was straight back in the gym after that fight and was still in great condition. This camp we have been able to focus on the tactics of fighting a southpaw and putting together a good game plan for Alfante.”
Jason: “Fighting on Danny Greens undercard again is a massive honour! We were lucky enough to be on Danny's undercard last year and that would definitely go down as one of the highlights of my career so far. Fighting on the big stage at Hisense Arena is something you dream of and I am really looking forward to doing it all again on August 3!"
Andrew: “I'm very excited to be fighting on Danny Greens card again. Apart from the great exposure of fighting on such a high profile card, it is also great experience fighting in front of such a big crowd at Hisense Arena. My aim is to be headlining big cards like this one myself in the future so it motivates me a lot fighting at these big stadiums.”
