Green competed at the Hisense Arena last night against the hard-hitting Argentinian Roberto Bolonti, following the withdrawal of his original opponent Tamas Kovacs due to a neck injury. With an action packed undercard with many notable Victorian fighters competing and a crowd filled to capacity of 9000, Team Ellis headed to Hisense Arena for a night out at the fights!
With an undercard packed full of exciting Victorian boxers, such as Eric Diamandstein, Andre Meunier Jayde Mitchell, Andrew and Jason Moloney and Manny Vlamis, the show was representative of Victorian fighters in nearly all its bouts. The undercard lived up to its potential, with all fighters working their heart out for the win, providing great entertainment for all. Throughout the night, Victorian brothers Andrew and Jason Moloney both competed in two hard fought victories- with Andrew fighting the experienced Filipino Ronerex Dalut, winning via UD, and Jason fighting the hard-punching Danilo Gabisay, winning via TKO in the 5th round. The victory for Jason was especially thrilling- after being knocked down in the second round, to then continue on to win the fight. The always exciting Jayde Mitchell also came off with a win- outworking the Western Australian Paul Morrison to win via UD.
Unfortunately for Andre, he was on the receiving end of a lovely uppercut by Ahio, ending the night for the Victorian. The semi-main event saw Aussie Jack Brubaker taking on 'The Chinese Warrior' Yang Xing Xin. The fight would end in favour of the Aussie, with Brubaker earning a 4th round TKO victory against the highly skilled Yang Xing Xin.
